Regarding satsang, the subject of the book, Abbot George says the following:

“One of the most valuable spiritual activities in East or West is satsang: a gathering of spiritual aspirants for spiritual study, discussion and inspiration. A satsang is especially beneficial when there is someone with many years of practice and experience who answers the questions asked by the aspirants.

“Over the years, and especially after the advent of the internet, people have written to me with questions that I have answered according to my understanding. This book is a collection of those questions and my answers. I hope they will be interesting and helpful to others.”

From his early youth Abbot George pursued the quest for spiritual knowledge and experience. In 1962, at the age of 22 he made his first of many trips to India meeting and learning from great spiritual figures of the time, including Sri Anandamayi Ma and Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh. With their blessing he became on of the first western members of the ancient Swami order of Shankaracharya with the name of Swami Nirmalananda Giri. From that time he has continued his spiritual explorations and studies to grow his understanding and experience.

Readers will find this book informative, entertaining, and a practical guide for spiritual life.
